Let’s get right to the heart of the ebola fear crisis. The most pervasive fear is that you or someone you love could catch ebola. Another fear is that you have no control over this contagious virus; it seems to have a life of its own.
Unfortunately, your fearful thoughts can attract what you fear. It is important to protect your mental state. You can do that by choosing what thoughts you allow to spend a lot of time in your mind.
You must be aware of your thoughts in order to keep your mind clear. Surprisingly, some people are not aware that they can actively choose their thoughts. A common remark is, “Well, I can’t help it, that’s just how I think.” Actually, you can help it.
Monitor what thoughts you have. This does not mean you ignore important information. It means that you do not let yourself obsess or worry about something that is negative. Worrying allows destructive thoughts to spend too much time in your consciousness.
Stop the thoughts that do not serve you. Choose your new thoughts carefully.
